The Surf & Pole week is…
…for everyone of 23 years and older. Surf or pole experience is not required. Do you already have some experience? Then you will considerably improve your surfing and pole skills this week. We offer different levels of surf and two levels of pole.
Add to the all-in surfweek two enthusiastic pole teachers, five mobile poles, a pole dance lesson everyday (except for Wednesday), flexibility training, a photoshoot (shot by the teachers of Studio noXcuse) and a street pole tour and you will get a unique and new concept: Surf & Pole! In collaboration with Studio noXcuse from Ghent (Belgium), Pura Vida Lodge is organising a Surf & Pole week.
Besides the surfing lessons, there is….
a full ‘pole programme’. In the cosy garden we will set up five mobile poles (Xpole Xstages). After the outdoor pole lesson, you can immediately cool down in the pool. Live outside for a week and only go inside to sleep. Besides that we offer a comfortable bed and an elaborate breakfast buffet every morning. In the evenings you can prepare a delicious meal in our outdoor kitchen or go out for a nice dinner. Relax in our lounge garden by the (heated) pool, in the bean bags or by the campfire in the evening while enjoying a cold drink. Plenty of ingredients to make your stay at the Pura Vida Lodge a vacation to remember!
Surf & Pole: the ultimate combination if you ask us!
Two challenging sports that go hand in hand. Both contribute to a strong core, shoulders and legs. Expect a lot of challenge and feelgood effect! Forget about the runner’s high and learn everything about the ‘surfing high’ and the ‘pole dancing high’. Sun and sea are a nice side effect.
An average day can look like this:
11h00 surfing lesson
13h00 independent surfing
15h00 relax by the pool
16h30 pole dance
19h30 independent dinner
[this is an example, hours can vary]
Levels Pole Dance
The Surf & Pole camp is open for pole dancers of all levels. It’s important for us to make a correct estimation of your level to divide the groups, so please don’t forget to mention this when registering.
You have no experience in pole dance but are motivated to get completely immersed in this sport for a full week.
Beginner / intermediate
You already followed one or more series of lessons. You are familiar with a basic invert and leg hangs.
Intermediate / advanced
You are pole dancing at a higher level. Aerial inverts, shoulder mount and a basic handspring are no issue for you.
If you have any questions about your level, please get in touch with firstname.lastname@example.org.
Pole dance teachers
Stefanie is passionate about the two greatest sports on earth, and completely convinced about the positive effect on body and mind.
She started pole dancing in 2011, and has been teaching since 2017. She followed the ElevatED level 1 Pole Teacher training and the refresh Pole Instructor course of Cindy Cooijmans.
Stefanie believes it is important to teach with attention to structure and good technical skills. She wants to ensure everyone can have fun moving and playing, while keeping their personal abilities and goals in mind. Her teaching is inspired by circus pedagogics and as a teacher of group dynamics she believes “Alone we go faster, together we go further”.
She is a recreational surfer who cannot wait to go ride the waves and share the fun and stoke of this sport with you!
The owner and teacher at Studio noXcuse. She has been pole dancing since 2008. She followed the X-pert and ElevatED teacher training Pole Level 1, as well as the Flexibility teacher training. Since pole dancing is a constantly evolving sport, Tine continues to follow trainings to keep up.
Besides teaching and running the studio, she also participates in competitions. In 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 she represented Belgium at the IPSF World Pole Sports Championship, and is currently ranked number 26 in the world.
Nothing is too crazy for Tine! In 2018 she discovered surfing and was more than happy to join Stefanie in her plan to combine these two great sports.
