Roasted Marshmallows

A popular “Pura Vida Lodge” tradition is the roasting of marshmallows over our fireplace in the garden.

Creates always a good atmosphere, and a lot of fun.

How we do it?  A marshmallow is placed on the end of a stick and held carefully over the open fire. This creates a caramelized outer skin with a liquid, molten layer underneath. According to individual preference, the marshmallows are heated to various degrees, from gently toasted to a charred outer layer. Some “beginners” get it pretty black… The roasted marshmallow can either be eaten whole or the outer layer can be consumed separately and the rest of the marshmallow toasted again. If you make it because some people drop it in to the fire before they get the chance to eat this sweetie.
